Basket weaving and spoon making week at CaravanTurkey Gokpinar Cultural Center

Learn how to make baskets and carve wooden spoons in a traditional Turkish village!

Villages will show you step-by-step how to create beautiful baskets and rustic, practical spoons by hand. This a hands on course where you will interact with the people of the village learning handcrafts that have been passed down through generations.

At Gokpinar, a village of 100 people,  just 10 minutes from the coast, you will be bathed in beauty and tranquility. This old Yörük village on the Aegean Coast of Turkey, feels a world away from the tourist trail. Our cultural center is set on a hilltop overlooking the village and the mountains' pine forests. We are only 10 minutes' drive to the beach and 40 minutes from Bodrum.

Spend your holiday with us, away from Turkey's tourist hot spots and enjoy the warmth and hospitality of village life.

Courses usually run for a week but we can tailor a programme for a shorter or longer stay at our cultural centre.
