Turkish Carpet Weaving Courses at CaravanTurkey Cultural Center
Gokpinar is an old Yörük village with a population of about 100. It is located on the Aegean Coast of Turkey, only 40 minutes from the centre of Bodrum but a world away from its heavy tourist traffic. Here you will experience real Turkish village life.
The Cultural Center is on a hilltop on the edge of the village overlooking its whitewashed homes below and with views of pine-covered mountains for miles around. We are a 10-minute drive to a lovely beach and five minutes from the nearest village market.
Come and join us for an afternoon to learn how village weavers make carpets and kilims in the traditional Turkish way.
Or join us for a week, learn to make a carpet or kilim of your own and experience Turkish village life first-hand.
