Turkish Carpet Weaving Courses at CaravanTurkey Cultural Center
Our nomadic village is located on the Aegean Coast of Turkey, only 40 minutes from the centre of Bodrum but a world away from its heavy tourist traffic. Here you will experience real Turkish village life.
The Cultural Center is on a hilltop on the edge of the village overlooking its whitewashed homes below and with views of pine-covered mountains for miles around. We are a 10-minute drive to a lovely beach and five minutes from the nearest village market.
Come and join us for an afternoon to learn how village weavers make carpets and kilims in the traditional Turkish way.
Learn to make a carpet or kilim of your own and experience Turkish village life first-hand.
Villagers show you step by step how to weave. All classes are translated into English
Your All inclusive 5 days course with accomodation & food and classes include :
- 4 nights accommodation in private stone house with private bathroom and WC
- All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
- Unlimited soft drinks
- Airport transfers from and to Bodrum International Airport
- Weaving classes (minimum 6 hours a day)by local women (with translation in English)
- Beach trips and local market visits
- Your own 40cm x 40 cm carpet made alongside a village weaver

625 EURO without accomodation. day visits with your own transportation- including lunch and classes and soft drinks

A DAY CLASS
PICK UP INCLUDED FROM BODRUM HOTELS
The day programme includes
- Pick up from hotels in Bodrum area ( pick-up at around 9 a.m )
- Transfer to Gokpinar (about 40 minutes)
- Introduction to Turkish carpets
- Meet with local village weavers and weave together
- You will be finishing a small piece and bring it your home as a memory
of the day
- Unlimited tea & coffee.& drinking water & drinks
- Rustic lunch partly prepared at wood fire
- 10 cm x 40 cm your own piece will be given to you
- Time for hand crafts shopping
Return to your hotel in Bodrum area ( around 5 p.m )
Course fee 275 EURO per person for coursers
non coursers are welcome at 75 EURO per person including lunch and transfers
